Firefighters battling brush fire in Kaanapali; evacuations ordered - Hawaii News Now

KAANAPALI (HawaiiNewsNow) - Evacuations were ordered Saturday afternoon for several areas of Kaanapali on Maui as firefighters battled a brush fire.

The evacuations covered Anapuni Loop to West Mahipulu.

The Hawaii Emergency Management Agency subsequently said the fire situation has “stabilized” and is not posing an active threat to communities.

“Firefighters are working in the area,” the agency said.

The evacuation comes as recovery operations continue in West Maui following the Lahaina fire.
